Dr. Rev. Duong Nguyen | Advisor
After leaving Vietnam in April 1975 as a young man, Pastor Duong heard a call from God to go into ministry to serve Him through the people in the US and abroad during his last year of college.
As part of God’s training, Pastor Duong tutored children at an orphanage in Clinton, Mississippi. After graduating, he moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and served as a teacher-aide and interpreter for Vietnamese refugees from 1979-1982. Serving people with both spiritual and physical needs has been the ministry that God set out for him in the 40 years since leaving Vietnam.
Ever since his involvement with VCRM in 2008, Pastor Duong has seen God’s tremendous power that saved and delivered thousands of men and women from the bondage of addiction. Many are now pastors and spiritual leaders all over the country helping other addicts and criminals to come to Christ.
His prayer is that God will raise up more leaders to evangelize, not just drug addicts and criminals, but to all who need the deliverance and freedom in Christ throughout Vietnam!
Pastor Duong Nguyen and his wife live in Plano, Texas, and have been serving churches and various ministries from Florida to Louisiana, from Oklahoma to Texas for 40 years. They have two daughters, Rebekah and Victoria.
Mr. Trong Du | President
Trong was raised in a Christian family and has been a member of the Vietnamese Alliance Church in San Francisco since 1975 and has had many years of management experience in the tech industry. Although he had a desire to serve God, he was unsure if his calling went beyond serving his local church. Then in 2017 on a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam, he witnessed the amazing transformation of ex-drug addicts who were changed by the power of the Gospel. After spending time with the residents and leadership team at a Christian rehab center in Hanoi, it became clear to him that God was stirring up a movement among struggling drug addicts in Vietnam. He excitedly joined to take part in establishing a bridge between Christians overseas and the harvest God has prepared in Vietnam.
Trong and his wife, Thuy-Tien, have 3 children: Josh, Rachel and Jeremy.
Mrs. ThuVan Nguyen | Vice President
ThuVan is a pastor’s wife and a Christian singer. During a short term mission trip to Malaysia in December 2008, she met a 12-year addict who was miraculously transformed by the Word of God. Subsequently, the Lord led her to Vietnam so she could witness the amazing deliverance of thousands of other addicts.
During her time as President of Vietnamese Baptist Women North America (2008-1012), she supported evangelistic efforts and Bible classes in state-sponsored drug rehabilitation centers in Vietnam. Once VCRM North America was established in 2014, she accepted the responsibility of being its president and continued to actively support the miraculous work God is performing on drug addicts in Vietnam.
In May of 2019, she resigned from the position of VCRM President in order to serve full time at Living Water Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon with her husband, Pastor Kenny Khanh Nguyen. They have 3 children: Melody, Jeremy, and Josiah. She finds joy in cooking, sewing, piano teaching, music composition and spending time with her husband and children.
Danielle Ledat | Treasurer
Growing up in Vietnam, Danielle was not familiar with charity organizations. However, from a very young age of 9, observing how her parents cared for her Grandparents and others, Danielle had a dream that one day she could build an orphanage and a home for the elderly that had no one to care for them. That dream stays with her until today.
When VCRM was founded in April 2014, Danielle joined the organization to help and support the Christian drug rehab ministry in Vietnam. Although this is not the work she originally envisioned, she feels equally drawn to restoring and bringing hope to individuals suffering from drug addictions and destructive lifestyles through the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Danielle is the treasurer for VCRM and is the Director of Business Management for JBI, Ltd. in Coppell, Texas. She attends Faith Vietnamese Baptist Church of Garland, Texas. Danielle is blessed with daughter Thiên Ngân, husband Michael & son Levi, daughter Thiên Hương & husband Ryan, and son Thiên Tín.
