HAIR TRAINING CLASS
In August 2023, the Aquila Center opened a hairdressing training class for students participating in the rehabilitation program. There were 10 students - 5 males, 5 females - enrolled. On April 12, the center held a graduation ceremony for the first class with 7 students. After graduation, the students will have acquired sufficient skills to work at hair salons or even establish their hair salon, reintegrating into the community. We hope to open hair salons in Hanoi in the future, aiming to provide students with stable jobs after graduation.

TESTIMONY: HEAVEN’S PRINCESS
Testimonial of a young woman who was entangled in the realm of homosexuality but found deliverance through God’s intervention.“Indeed, anyone who becomes involved in homosexuality will discover its sinister allure, drawing them in. Despite numerous attempts, I found myself unable to break free from its grip. I believe its influence is even more potent than that of addictive drugs.”
I’m a 26-year-old woman born in 1996, and my upbringing was quite intricate due to my parents’ situation.

THE EMERGENCE OF A RESTORATION CENTER FOR WOMEN
When we first visited the Naomi House, a rehab center in Hanoi, Vietnam, we saw more than 20 women crammed into a 430 square foot apartment. We immediately felt compassion for them. Later, a group of youth from VCRM Australia visited the center. After witnessing this scene, they wondered aloud why we couldn’t have a more spacious place for these women, similar to the men-only Aquila Center. The vision for an isolated and more accommodating rehab center for women became clearer at that point. Naomi House, VCRM Australia and VCRM North America were now on a mission to make this vision a reality.

GOOD NEWS AND THANKSGIVINGS
Another recipient of VCRM’s financial support is Truong Xuan Nguyen. He and Linh Thuy Phan shared their stories in the article titled A Perfect Puzzle Piece in this newsletter. They sent this Thank You note to VCRM:
“My wife and I would like to send our deepest thanks to VCRM because God used the ministry to financially support us during our days at the center so that we can be where we are today. May God greatly bless the staff of VCRM, all the work of the ministry and may He continue to use the ministry more effectively for the kingdom of God.”

WHERE I WILL INVEST
During the past few months, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread all over the world affecting the global economy and society. Everywhere, many plans had to be abandoned, and many activities halted. Schools were closed. Daily news reported many deaths from COVID-19.These events serve as wake-up calls to remind us that life is short and fragile, and no one can predict what is to come. In days past, what have we invested in? Have we seized the opportunities to invest in things of eternal value for the Kingdom of God?
Here at VCRM, looking back over the past months in the Covid-19 pandemic, we are grateful to the Lord for the fruitful work you and VCRM have been investing in to save those in drug addiction, prostitution and other destructive lifestyles in Vietnam.

TESTIMONY: MY TRA VUONG
My body is covered with tattooed images of unwholesome symbols. I sport a rebellious disposition under a short haircut. My street girl appearance keeps others at a distance.
Indeed, I lived on the street, smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol and consumed other stimulants. But I didn’t stop there. I became a dealer. When I was sixteen, I hooked up with a married man. I wanted to end my life when the man grew tired of me and left me. My family took me to the emergency room while I was unconscious due to a suicide attempt.
